excellent product

The quality of these is fantastic. Sadly I am having to exchange one pair for a larger size. Medical staff measured my mum's legs according to the size guide but far too small when they arrived. Sadly we cannot return the pair we opened and at £20 per pair not too happy. Please be really careful about the size you order as I feel the guide is wrong. My own leg is a third smaller than my mum's and these just fit me.

Pebble UK says: Due to the nature of compression products clinging to peoples skin, once tried on, we cannot offer refunds or exchanges in the course of health and hygiene. As long as you have measured yourself correctly and ordered the right size, as per the manufacturers size chart, they should fit. We have not heard of any problems with this product before in terms of sizing, so we are assuming the customer has difficulty in donning the item due to the strength of the compression being high, this does not mean they will not fit, but will mean they can be tricky to get into.

Importantly: With all medical compression garments, the manufacturers size chart must be adhered to, as they are designed for medical purposes. If you do not follow the size charts, you risk not getting the therapeutic benefits from the garment. Just because one customer is not happy with the sizing, does not mean that the size chart is wrong!

In this particular case, as we do not know the measurements of the customer, we cannot categorically say what has happened here, but it could be that the customer may not fit ideally within a certain size range (for example, Small Ankle, Large Calf).

Excellent result

I have limited mobility and poor muscle tone, and for a few years my feet/ankles/lower legs start swelling as soon as I am on my feet. This has been getting worse, and for the past few months, because of the poor circulation, I have also been experiencing excruciating sharp pains in my feet and toes (lancination) every day, also getting worse. I had resisted wearing support hosiery, despite my GP suggesting some time ago that I should try. From the morning I put on these socks I have had no oedema, and can be on my feet all day with no problems. I have my skinny legs and ankles back! Also from that day I have not had a single pain in my feet. I went for the toeless socks as I didn't want the feeling of squashed toes, but it also means that, for the first time in  years, I am now painting my toenails again!

should be available on NHS

I buy these for my 83 yrs young disabled Mum.  She has to spend a lot of time lying/sitting.  Severe osteoarthritis is her problem.  As a consequence she has fluid build up, oedema in her legs, and has also suffered with cellulitis.  My Mum does not tolerate the Dr very well I'm afraid so research was required.  Long story short, I cream her legs with aqueous cream and put these socks on her and she wears them 24/7.  Her legs have never looked so good, skin is smooth blemish free and her ankles are the slimmest they have been in years.  The combination of the compression and protection has been enormously successful.  I mentioned to her this morning that if all people in her situation were supplied with these that the savings to the NHS would be massive.  Also the constant meetings with the Dr would be cut down.  I cannot praise these socks enough, you can buy more expensive ones, but they are no better.  They wash and wear beautifully, and lets not forget the customer service, superb.  The only thing I would say is take your measurments carefully, I found that I had to go a size bigger than Mums measurements indicated, but hubby has the smaller pair.  When his legs ache at work!  He has a few varicous veins and he feels a lot more comfortable after wearing these for a few hours.  All in all one of those things you come across in life that you wondered how you did without before you found it... :)
